The cab driver shot by an off-duty Nassau police officer more than two years ago in Huntington Station has refused to testify in front of a grand jury.
William Petrillo, cab driver Thomas Moroughan's attorney, tells News 12 Long Island that his client does not want to testify. Petrillo says Moroughan wants to move on and rebuild his life and wants nothing to do with the case.
Moroughan was shot by officer Anthony DiLeonardo when he was off-duty. Fellow officer Edward Bienz was also at the scene.
Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota has recommended a grand jury to be empaneled in the case. DiLeonardo's attorney says his client didn't commit any crimes.
