Brooklyn exhibit highlights challenges faced by LGBTQ+ seniors

A new exhibit is making its debut in Brooklyn.
The exhibit is called ‘Not Another Second.’ It features portraits and stories of 12 LGBTQ+ seniors.
The exhibit highlights the challenges those in the LGBTQ+ have faced over the past six decades.
Lujira Cooper, 72, tells News 12 the message she wants people to take away from this exhibit is to, “Just to be who you are and now allow people to dissuade you from being who you are."
It is a collaboration between the nonprofit Sage and the Watermark retirement communities.
The portraits are on display at the Watermark at Brooklyn Heights and incorporate an augmented reality app.
Once you’ve downloaded the app, you can point your smartphone at any of the pictures and a video starts to play.
The exhibit is free and runs from Jan. 19 through March before it moves on to tour around the nation.
