Keanna Bryant says 13 years ago, she moved from St. Louis, Missouri to pursue her dream of modeling.
Since then, she says she walked in New York Fashion Week and has been featured in Vigour and other magazines.
In June, she says she was brutally stabbed by 39-year-old Manola Talbert.
Talbert faces multiple charges, including robbery, assault and attempted murder.
Bryant says this isn't the first time Talbert has attacked her.
In 2022, Talbert was charged for assault in the third degree.
"He ran in my home here. Hit me in my head, like about five times," said Bryant.
Bryant says she's never had any relationship or prior encounters with her suspected attacker, and that he was just another person in her building.
Since the attack in 2022, Bryant says she had an order of protection against him, yet he continued to live next door to her.
He was arrested and charged following the most recent attack.
"The defendant was arrested on June 5, 2024, and arraigned in Bronx Criminal Court on June 7, at which time he pleaded not guilty. Bail was set at $20,000 and he was held in Rikers Island. He was arraigned on a Grand Jury indictment on July 15, 2024. On Sept. 27, there was a bail hearing before Judge Kim Parker, who placed him under supervised release pending his next court date which is Oct. 30," said the Bronx's District Attorney's office.
Talbert is now out on supervised release and Bryant is afraid he will strike again.
"If he attacked me on an order of protection and stabbed me 17 times, a paper don't mean anything." said Bryant.
Bryant says she feels victimized by the system, and that she is being treated like the criminal.
News 12 reached out to the DA's office. It said over the phone that the office called Byrant to inform her Talbert was released on bail.
Bryant says all she got was a simple text.
The DA's office says a crime advocate has been working with Bryant, but she says the advocate has been no help.
She just wants help getting out of the apartment building where she lost the joy of life.
