Bronx students traveled to Albany Tuesday to lobby for more school funding. Students from the New Bronx Leadership Academy, the Leadership Institute and other schools throughout the borough came together to fight for more funding for education in the Bronx and the city. Students say they need more textbooks in their classrooms and they want to see new school construction in the borough. The students met with members of the state Assembly and the state Senate to tell them how the lack of funding is affecting their schools. The students say they are confident that because of their efforts in Albany there will be more money for Bronx schools when the state budget is passed.
