Bronx man arrested for leaving suspicious package in Times Square

Police have arrested a man who they say left a suspicious package in Times Square on Monday morning.

Just after 10:30 a.m., police received a 911 call for a suspicious package in front of an NYPD facility at West 43rd St. and 7th Ave. Emergency units and bomb squad were requested.

Shortly after 2 p.m., police arrested 26-year-old Desean Maryat, of The Bronx. He was charged with reckless endangerment, placing a false bomb/hazardous substance, making terroristic threats, making a threat of mass harm and disorderly conduct.
