Residents in Melrose held a block party despite the humidity.  The group hosting the party, the Bronx Defenders, made sure to include some ways to help all the attendees keep cool, such as a water

Residents in Melrose held a block party despite the humidity. 
The group hosting the party, the Bronx Defenders, made sure to include some ways to help all the attendees keep cool, such as a water balloon dunk booth. 
There was also an ice stand present, and coolers stocked with cans of soda and water bottles.
Those in attendance could be seen wearing sunglasses and light clothing including T-shirts.
