Hundreds gathered in Brentwood Monday to remember a man who friends say epitomized what it meant to be a New York State trooper.
Mourners spoke of 45-year-old Jose Rosado, of Deer Park, with deference and respect as they laid to rest the 18-year veteran of Long Island's Troop L. Rosado died last week after his patrol car skidded out on black ice and hit another vehicle. The funeral was held at St. Anne's Catholic Church.
Rosado, one of 10 children, was known as a man who cherished his family, which he traveled the country and his native Puerto Rico to see. Rosado leaves behind a wife, teenaged daughter and 12-year-old son.
