Multiple fire departments responded to a fire that broke out overnight at a house in Hempstead.

Crews responded to the home on Rutland Road just after midnight, fire officials tell News 12.

One police officer suffered a hand laceration.

Four people are now receiving assistance from the Red Cross after the home was deemed uninhabitable.

The cause is still under investigation by the Nassau County Fire Marshal's Office.
