Police are searching for the person who left a box containing 28 chicks outside a Nassau pet store.

Two employees at a Petland Discounts store in Valley Stream say they found the chicks in a taped-up cardboard box Friday morning. They brought the chicks to a veterinarian's office in Valley Stream. The vet is searching for anyone who would like to keep them.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Nassau SPCA at 516-THE-SPCA. There is a $2,000 reward available for any information that leads to an arrest.
