The body of Jovan Belcher, a former NFL player and Long Island native, has been exhumed.

Belcher, of West Babylon, died last year after a murder-suicide in Kansas City, where he played with the Chiefs. He killed his girlfriend, the mother of his infant daughter, at home before he drove to the Chiefs' practice facility. He then shot himself.

Belcher's family says he was exhumed from a North Babylon cemetery so his brain can be examined.
