Officials say six people are safe after their boat capsized off Lido Beach on Labor Day.

Officials say they got a call of a boat in distress just before 4 p.m.

They say it happened about 300 feet off of Nickerson Beach.

"The people are very lucky. The boat is completely capsized, a couple pieces sank to the bottom, and they are very lucky to be here with us today," says Point Lookout-Lido Fire Department Chief Jared Siegelman

All six people were thrown into the water, but none of them were hurt.
