The Town of Smithtown board has approved a plan to bring a Chick-fil-A to the area.
The board unanimously approved the plan for the chicken chain to set up shop in Commack.
The restaurant would be part of a shopping center redevelopment project on Commack Road near the Long Island Expressway.
Long Island's first Chick-fil-A opened in Port Jefferson Station in October.
