Bitter blast eases this week, rainy days ahead for Long Island

News 12 Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Julian Seawright says it will be warmer this week, but expect rainy conditions.

OVERNIGHT: Clear skies, not as breezy and very cold. Feels-like temperatures will be between the middle to low teens. Lows will be in the upper teens near 20 degrees.

MONDAY: Sunny and very cold in the morning. Then turning not as cold in the afternoon as temps rise to the upper 30s. Highs in the upper 30s. Lows near 30 degrees.

TUESDAY: Mostly cloudy and a little mild. There is a chance for scattered showers late. Highs in the low 40s. Lows in the middle 30s.

WEDNESDAY: Cloudy with scattered showers. Highs in the middle 40s. Lows in the middle 30s.

THURSDAY: Cloudy and mild with periods of light to moderate rain through the day. Highs in the upper 40s. Lows in the upper 30s near 40 degrees.

FRIDAY: Cloudy, mild and rain through the morning tapering off in the afternoon. Highs in the low 50s. Lows in the upper 30s.

NEXT WEEKEND: Staying mild with some possible rain chances for Sunday evening. Otherwise, some clouds and milder temperatures.
