STORM TEAM UPDATE: An incoming weather system could create a wintry mix followed by icy conditions. This could pose hazards on the roadways for Thursday morning. We are still gathering information on this system, stay with News 12 and we'll post new updates as they become available.
WHAT'S NEXT: Parade of storms. Thursday, Saturday evening into Sunday and then Tuesday into Wednesday.
WHAT'S NEW: Gusty winds this afternoon will usher in much colder weather for Wednesday.
Active weather pattern the next week with the threat of snow, ice and rain. The 1st storm arrives early on Thursday with snow, ice mix changing to rain by noon. Potential of 1 inch of snow and ice before a change over. Be alert for icy/slick roads for the Thursday morning rush hour. The 2nd Storm moves over Long Island Saturday afternoon into Sunday morning. Snow will mix with rain changing to all rain by Sunday morning. Coating to 1 inch of snow possible before becoming all rain. The 3rd storm late Tuesday into Wednesday has the best chance to accumulate snow. Periods of snow will develop after 4 p.m. on Tuesday. Snow could be moderate before a mix of sleet and rain moves in over Long Island during the morning hours of Wednesday. Moderate snow accumulation possible.
TODAY: Sun and clouds. Breezy. Highs near 44, temperatures drop into the 30s after 4 p.m. Northwest wind 10 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.
TONIGHT: Partly cloudy, with a low around 21. Wind chill values between 10 and 20. North wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
Wednesday: Mostly cloudy, cold with a high near 33. Wind chill values between 15 and 25. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming calm in the afternoon.
