A popular Bellport beach will allow swimming again starting Friday after a handful of lifeguards walked off the job last week.
Ho-Hum Beach was closed to swimmers after the Village of Bellport accepted the resignation of six lifeguards.
The guards walked off in protest when some were told they couldn't bring family members while they were on duty, unless there was another adult to watch them.
Since then, the village hired one supervisor and three lifeguards from Brookhaven Town to fill the open spots.
