Bellone: No new deaths from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours
Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone announced at his daily briefing Wednesday that there were no new deaths from COVID-19 in the county in the last 24 hours.
"That is a great thing," said Bellone. "We want to see that moving forward every day."
However, Bellone said the county did see an increase in the number of residents hospitalized with the virus.
"Our hospitilizations had a little bit of a spike yesterday back up to seven," said Bellone. "So we are above 70.
Bellone said even though there was a spike in the daily infection rate, it has since gone back down to 1%.
This is the second day this week that the county didn't see an increase in deaths.
