Bed-Stuy block party honors legacy left by Dr. Albert Vann

Brooklyn residents came together for a block party in front of the Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation in a second day of commemoration for the late Dr. Albert Vann.
The former state assembly and council member passed away on July 15, leaving behind an iconic legacy that community members, elected officials, and people of all ages hope to honor.
His lifelong dedication to public service was also remembered and celebrated in a more private ceremony Friday.
People who knew him say that he was a pilar of the Brooklyn community and vow to keep his legacy alive for generations to come.
