From food to flashlights - we're going through a checklist of what you should have packed up and ready to go for you and your pet if a hurricane hits. 
There is a chance of 12 to 17 named storms this year, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) predictions for the 2023 Atlantic hurricane season, which officially runs through Nov. 30.
