Hundreds of revelers packed the streets Sunday during the sixth annual Babylon Village Pride parade.
“It’s an amazing event filled with love and inclusivity, just everyone coming united, especially in these times, and you’ll see all the love on Deer Park Avenue," said Roman, parade organizer and founder of Babylon Village Pride.
The theme of this year's event was "Somewhere over the Rainbow."
“I think it’s really cool and I love coming here," said Sabrina Pastore, of West Babylon.
Organizers awarded seven scholarships to high school students in the area, and community grants to local artists and organizations. All recipients demonstrated leadership skills in promoting inclusivity and equality.
“I can’t promise what tomorrow and what the future can bring, but I can promise you today – with this parade, you’ll see love and acceptance," said Roman.
Sunday's parade kicked off Pride Month – celebrating the LGBTQ+ community.
