A Long Island native is taking to the cage this weekend.

Chris Weidman, of Baldwin, is set to face off against undefeated UFC champion Anderson Silva this Saturday night in Las Vegas. Weidman has been a mixed martial arts fighter for four years and is learning at the hands of legendary trainer Ray Longo.

Like his opponent, Weidman is also unbeaten. He plans on keeping that record intact.

Weidman says defeating the 38-year-old Silva would be an absolute dream come true.
