Bail was set Thursday for three of the four suspects accused in gas station and bank robberies across Suffolk County.
Police say Stacey Beck, Shabril Maxwell and Robert DiGrazia, along with Douglas McKeefery, robbed or tried to rob a total of eight gas stations and banks between Dec. 29 and Jan. 22. Locations allegedly hit by the suspects include spots in Huntington Station, Deer Park, East Farmingdale, Amityville, North Amityville and Commack.
According to police, the suspects were captured after a good Samaritan followed a man fleeing from a gas station holdup in Commack and gave police a description of the car.
Acting Suffolk Police Commissioner Tim Sini says the suspects were identified through a combination of video surveillance, witness statements and physical evidence.
Suffolk police say the motive behind the robberies was to support heroin addiction.
All suspects are facing various robbery and attempted robbery charges.
