Three vehicles were ravaged by fire late Wednesday night at an Islip auto body shop.
Witnesses reported seeing a person siphoning gas out of one of the cars parked outside Sonrise Automotive, according to arson investigators. They said the individual then got away in a nearby van.
Sonrise Automotive owner John Bryant said he doesn't know why anyone would want to destroy the cars. One of the car's owners, who requested anonymity, said he had recently spent thousands of dollars replacing the roof, battery and other parts of his 1995 sedan.
