Armed men posing as IRS agents conned their way into a Freeport man?s home Thursday and terrorized him for money.
Police say Juan Ortiz let the two suspects in because they were dressed professionally. Once inside, the robbers held a gun to Ortiz?s head and handcuffed, and bound him. They also shot a hole into one room. The victim?s wife, Priscilla Ortiz, says although the robbers got away with heirlooms and cash, she?s thankful her husband is safe.
The victim?s daughter believes the men may return because their home was broken into less than a month ago. Nassau police are working with the victim to create sketches of the suspects.
