Hofstra University's Shakespeare Festival kicked off Monday on the The Hofstra Globe Stage.

University officials say it is an authentic recreation of Shakespeare's famous theater.

Theater and drama majors are performing some of the playwright's works, including "The Merry Wives Of Windsor."

The Hofstra University Shakespeare Festival runs through Nov. 5. Admission is free.
