A 110-year-old lobster was pardoned by Nassau County officials and spared from becoming someone's dinner.
"Lorenzo the lobster" had been living at Peter's Clam Bar in Island Park for over a decade.
Hempstead Town Supervisor Don Clavin and Nassau County Legislator John Ferretti delivered the ceremonial pardon for the 21-pound lobster.
Lorenzo was carried away from the restaurant by a Hempstead Bay Constable boat with lights flashing and sirens sounding.
He will now spend the rest of his life in free and peaceful waters.
