There are some “angels” working hard this week to help Long Island students heading back to school.
Angels of Long Island in Patchogue has been collecting bottles and cans to raise money for school supplies for Long Islanders in need.
So far, it has raised more than $8,000.
The drop off is easy: people drive up in their car and volunteers take the bags and cans out for a contactless donation.
The Angels say the money is going to help them recoup what they lost during the pandemic - and help school kids with their supplies.
Those who would like to give money can do so at the donation stand Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Angels of Long Island plans to buy the school supplies and have them ready to hand out next weekend.
