Amityville buildings evacuated for nearby liquid nitrogen leak
A liquid nitrogen leak in an Amityville parking lot has caused nearby buildings to be evacuated.
Suffolk fire officials say they got a call at 12:43 p.m. for a leak in the lot of 2000 New Horizons Boulevard.
The North Lindenhurst Fire Department responded and was on scene.
Suffolk police say the boulevard in front of the lot was closed in both directions. The leak has been contained, according to fire officials.
The cause has not been made clear.
