An alleged Bloods gang member charged in the fatal shooting of a man in Deer Park in 2017 is headed to trial.

Lawrence Lewis is accused of shooting John Birt at the Illusions Gentlemen's Club.

Prosecutors say the victim and some friends were taking a picture when one of Lewis' associates tried flashing a gang sign.

They say a fight broke out and Lewis opened fire, killing Birt.

Lewis faces life in prison if convicted.
