Police
say a New Jersey man has been arrested for gun possession in Inwood.
According
to detectives, officers observed a black colored Nissan Maxima with a New
Jersey registration and excessive window tints traveling eastbound on Burnside
Avenue near Wahl Avenue.
When fficers conducted a traffic stop, the driver was observed making furtive
movements, seemed nervous and admitted to not having a valid driver's
license.
For
officer safety, the driver was brought to the rear of the vehicle where he
admitted to being in possession of a loaded firearm.
Joshua
C. Figueroa, 25, of Union City, was arrested without incident.
Recovered
from Figueroa’s pants pocket was a black and silver colored Guardian .32
caliber handgun.
No
injuries were reported.
Figueroa
is charged with criminal possession of a firearm and multiple vehicle and
traffic law violations.
