Suffolk County's alarm registration program officially begins today. 
The "Alarm Management Program" is designed to cut the number of false alarm calls throughout the county.
The program costs $50 for homeowners to register and $100 for businesses.
If you are not registered, police can charge you if they respond to more than two false alarms. 
Nassau has a similar program already in place.
