A teenage girl got more than she bargained for when police say a Peeping Tom took pictures of her at Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove.
Suffolk police arrested 22-year-old Carlos Hernandez-Morales after a security guard alerted police about the incident Saturday. Authorities say he used his cell phone to secretly snap photos under the dress of a 15-year-old girl who was shopping with her mother at JCPenney.Laura Ahearn, with Parents for Megan's Law, worries pictures like that will end up on the Internet.
"I'm going to call state lawmakers to see if it's possible to require manufacturers to put an audio alert on cell phones. Each time a photo is taken, it would have a loud alert so everybody would be aware," Ahearn said.
Hernandez-Morales faces charges of unlawful surveillance and endangering the welfare of a child.
