The nicer spring weather could bring higher gas prices to the area.
According to AAA, an average New York gas price will be just under $3 a gallon by the start of spring on March 22.
The reasons include refinery maintenance, increased U.S. exports, the switch to more expensive summer blends and the rising demand for gas as the warmer weather comes in.
