Wildlife officials say 94 deer were killed during a five-day, state-ordered hunt inside a fenced-off section of Liberty State Park.

The hunt began March 30 in a contaminated area of the park that is closed to the public.

Officials say relocating the deer was not an option because of disease risks.

The hunt drew criticism from some advocates who say the public should have been notified sooner.
