It only took 7 seconds for 2019 to welcome its newest Long Islander.
A baby boy was born at 12:00:07 at LIJ Medical Center in New Hyde Park.
Adina Derdik, the boy's mother, says there was “a lot of adrenaline and excitement” as the baby was coming and the ball was dropping.
Keeping with Jewish tradition, the baby won't be officially named until the eighth day at the bris.
