A nearly 70-year member of the Sea Cliff Fire Department has died.

James O’Donnell, 88, was also the honorary chief of the department.

Sea Cliff officials say O’Donnell dedicated his entire life to service, leadership, and the unwavering protection of others.

Wake services begin Tuesday at Whitting Funeral Home in Glen Head.

A funeral will be held on Thursday at St. Boniface Church in Sea Cliff.
