Six Long Island public high schools are ranked among the best in the nation.

Jericho High School ranked 98th on the annual U.S. News & World Report list of America's top 200 schools.

Among the others on the list are Cold Spring Harbor High School, Garden City High School, the Wheatley School in the East Williston School District, Great Neck South High School and Manhasset High School.

The schools are chosen based on graduation rates and scores on state proficiency tests.
