A 37-year-old Brookhaven man is going to prison for 30 years for sexually abusing his two stepdaughters, according to Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney.

His name is not being released to protect the identity of the two children.

He pleaded guilty in February to sexually abusing one stepdaughter starting when she was 10 years old in 2018, which went on for nearly three years. After abusing the first stepdaughter, he began abusing the second one in 2022 when she was 12 years old for almost two years.

Prosecutors say he recorded himself sexually abusing them multiple times, and the abuse was discovered by the daughter's mother on his iPad.

She then called the police and he was arrested.

He will be supervised for 20 years post-release.
