A stabbing suspect shot and critically injured by police at Grand Central Station was pronounced dead on Saturday, according to officials.
The incident began when officers responded to an ongoing assault around 9:40 a.m.
Upon arrival, they found the man wielding a knife. They then discharged their weapons, striking the man.
Police found three victims with stab wounds. An 84-year-old man, a 70-year-old woman and a 65-year-old man were hospitalized in stable condition.
The suspect was initially hospitalized in critical condition. NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch later confirmed during a press conference that he died.
Investigators say a knife was recovered at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
