Montauk's fishing industry is getting help from the feds.

Nearly $2 million in federal funds will pay for dredging Lake Montauk Harbor.    

Officials say dredging Lake Montauk Harbor is critical to the fishing and boating industries.

Montauk is one of the state's largest commercial fishing ports.

East Hampton Town Supervisor Peter Van Scoyoc says the safety of all boats using the harbor depends of regular dredging.
