People from near and far traveled to the 23rd annual Super Pet Expo in Edison over the weekend.
The event features a multitude of activities, including shopping from over 150 venders and animal experts specializing in training, nutrition and health.
Dog trainer Chrissy Joy was one of the many professionals at the event. Her company, Bone-A-Fied Friends Forever Pet Services offers a variety of dog training classes.
“It’s important to have a presence because we want people to believe that they can work their dog through positive reinforcement treats and toys. Nothing through force. We want to inspire them to try a few new things with their own dog,” she said.
Visitors can meet some famous pets as well. For example, Dexter the Dog has over a million social media followers due to his inspiring story of learning to walk again after losing a front leg in a car accident.
His owner, Kentee, was invited all the way from Colorado to inspire pet owners that they can do anything they put their minds to.
“Here's a dog who has figured it out and is happy,” said Kentee. “He might not look the way you think it should look, but he has taken advantage of this life.”
The expo goes on until 7 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
