A man was arrested after a hit-and-run crash in Huntington Station Thursday night.

Rodlain Surpris, 36, of Huntington, was stopped in his vehicle on New York Ave. around 9:30 p.m. when a Suffolk police patrol officer attempted a traffic stop.

Surpris fled the scene in his 2016 Chevrolet SUV and continued onto Pulaski Road where he crashed into a Jeep, police say.

After his vehicle was disabled, the man ran away on foot before being taken into custody a short time later.

Suffolk police tell News 12 Surpris also has drugs in his possession.

He will face multiple charges when he is arraigned on Friday, including criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful fleeing, and operating a vehicle without a required ignition interlock device.
