Police rescue kitten from sewer drain in Coram

The department says a passerby reported finding the kitten in the drain on Towne Woods Road and Townhouse Drive.

Suffolk County police officers helped save a kitten stuck inside a sewer drain early Tuesday morning in Coram.

The department says a passerby reported finding the kitten in the drain on Towne Woods Road and Townhouse Drive at 4:36 a.m.

Two officers responded to the scene and used a catch pole to retrieve the animal.

A good Samaritan then took the cat to a veterinarian.
