New video obtained by News 12 is shedding more light on the brazen smash-and-grab theft at the Gucci store at Woodbury Common Premium Outlets in Central Valley.

The footage, sent to News 12 after our initial report on the incident, shows suspects rushing through the store, grabbing handbags, breaking glass display cases and running off in the middle of the day.

The video also shows workers pulling customers out of the way, apparently trying to keep them from getting too close to the chaos.

Police previously said four suspects — three men and one woman — stole more than a dozen designer handbags worth about $30,000 during the theft last Thursday afternoon.

After leaving the outlets, police say the suspects drove to New Jersey, where Newark police spotted the vehicle and a wild chase followed. Authorities say the suspects got away and the rental getaway car was later found dumped at an unrelated home in Irvington.

The person who shared the latest video with News 12 said they work at Woodbury Common and asked not to be identified.

That employee said incidents like this happen more often than many people realize, and that some workers, especially those there at night, are concerned about their safety. The source also alerted News 12 to other alleged incidents at the outlets and provided surveillance photos of other alleged suspects.

Woodbury police confirm an attempted after-hours burglary at the Balenciaga store last Wednesday, saying officers were already on the property when it happened, but the suspects got away.

Police also confirm a separate larceny at Bottega last May but said they did not have details on what was taken.
Authorities said some thefts may go unreported by stores, which could explain why other alleged incidents described by the employee were not in police records.

Police say no arrests have been made in the Gucci theft and the suspects remain at large. Police say the woman involved in the heist is wanted in connection with at least a dozen other similar retail larcenies across the tri-state area.

News 12 has reached out to Woodbury Common for comment about security measures and is awaiting a response.
