Thousands of people from around the world, including dozens of Holocaust survivors, joined together at Auschwitz for the annual March of the Living walk.

The march included dozens of Long Island high school students, an official told News12.

Julian Elihu, a senior at Great Neck North High School, was one of them.

"We've learned about the Holocaust in school, some of us have even spoken with survivors, but seeing it in person, being able to feel and stand on the ground that these tragedies happened in, really changes your perspective and it's a whole new feeling," Elihu said.
