A man accused of fatally stabbing his estranged wife in Farmingville last month had been indicted for murder, according to the Suffolk County district attorney.

Prosecutors say Marcos Marques-Leal violated an order of protection, broke into Adriana Barbosa’s home on Granny Road and repeatedly stabbed her.

The couple’s 16-year-old daughter was also injured as she tried to intervene and protect her mother.

Marques-Leal went on to stab himself in the neck and abdomen.

He has pleaded not guilty to murder.
