Man fatally stabs estranged wife, then himself at Farmingville home

According to police, officers responded to 144 Granny Rd. after a 911 call reported a domestic incident at 8:15 p.m.

Police have arrested a man after he fatally stabbed his estranged wife and then stabbed himself at their home in Farmingville Thursday night.

According to police, officers responded to 144 Granny Rd. after a 911 call reported a domestic incident at 8:15 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found Adriana Barbosa and Marcos Marques-Leal with stab wounds.

A teen relative was in the home at the time of the incident and also suffered injuries during the attack.

Barbosa, 46, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The teen was also transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of injuries that were not life-threatening.

Marques-Leal, 57, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Homicide detectives charged Leal with second-degree murder, criminal contempt and endangering the welfare of a child.

Marques-Leal will be arraigned at a later date.
