A wildlife rehabilitation center called A Place Called Hope in Killingworth has found a unique way to make sure none of its animals are ever alone.

Orion, a northern saw whet owl, recently lost his roommate who died of old age.

The center says that Orion desperately needed a buddy.

So to keep him company, they gave him his own stuffed teddy bear.

In a Facebook post, the center said that if another northern saw whet owl "comes along that can not be released due to a injury that would comprise survival in the wild," they will apply to acquire the animal.
