Driver faces DWI charges in Hampton Bays pedestrian crash

A pedestrian suffered minor injuries Monday evening after being struck by a vehicle driven by an alleged drunk driver, Southampton Town police said.
The crash occurred around 6:18 p.m. on West Montauk Highway near Bellows Pond Road. The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The driver, Porfirio Chitay-Boch, 54, of Hampton Bays, was arrested and charged with two counts of driving while intoxicated and other traffic violations. He was processed at police headquarters and held for arraignment.
