The owner of Gallery Furniture in Medford has had his business license revoked by Suffolk County.

"Good news for the consumers of Suffolk County and Nassau County," said Gregory Scolieri, of Seaford.

After more than 100 complaints over five years — many of them profiled on News 12 — Suffolk Consumer Affairs revoked the business license of Richard Kogel, owner of Gallery Furniture.

Scolieri was one of several Long Islanders who purchased items from the Medford store and is either still waiting for delivery, was sent the wrong item or received damaged goods.

Many customers tried to get their money back but were refused a refund.

"People work hard for their money. We deserve to either get the furniture or our money back so we can move on with our lives," Scolieri said.

Scolieri and his wife paid $6,000 back in January for two couches and are still waiting for their purchase.

They say it's been a battle just to get any help.

Monday, they presented their case to the county and Kogel.

Suffolk Consumer Affairs did not let News 12 go into the hearing, but we were able to speak with the attorney for the owner of Gallery Furniture after.

"He went in, he made an admission, and right now he's looking to make that person and any others whole and get back into business," said Matt Tuohy, Richard Kogel's lawyer.

Suffolk Consumer Affairs tells News 12 that without a license, Gallery Furniture cannot conduct business.
