A teacher from Hackettstown is facing charges in connection to alleged inappropriate text conversations with a 13-year-old student.

Authorities say Lorri Ann Willis, a teacher at Black River Middle School, was charged earlier this week.

According to Morris County Prosecutor's Office, the report of inappropriate behavior was made earlier this month.

Investigators say Willis sent sexual text messages to a former student who is 13 years old.

Officials say the messages were exchanged between June 2024 and this month.

Willis is currently being held at Morris County Correctional Facility pending future court proceedings and has been suspended from her position.
